Accessibility

Specific Accessibility Considerations

No FULLY wheelchair bound access to ferry- we have partially lifted and assisted LIMITED mobility guests only (NOT wheelchair bound) off and on the Heron Islander - assumed "No Lift"policy for all staff

Helicopter transfers maybe an option for mobility impaired guests

No water/beach wheelchair access

In terms of mobility assistance, our clinic has one very basic wheelchair and a buggy

One fully wheelchair access room (100)

Restricted wheelchair access to Reception, Baillies Bar, Shearwater Restaurant only from certain downstairs rooms(without a lip/step and no wheelchair bathroom access to these rooms ONLY 100)

Mobility frames and walking aids accessible for most downstairs rooms

Dive/Snorkel boats and I-Spy (semi-submersible boat) NO access for wheelchair or walking aids

Due to the natural environment, there is a risk of slips, trips or falls because of the uneven surfaces.

Heron Island welcomes guests with access needs to email our clinic team on clinic@heronisland.com to discuss their requirements
