The Great Barrier Reef Swim, held in conjunction with Oceanswims.com is an annual event held at Heron Island, and the main swim event spans beautiful Heron Island, approximately 3km along the Great Barrier Reef.

Accompanied by well-known, highly respected coaches of elite swimmers, ocean swimmers of all ages as well as the vast array of marine life, there is no better place to swim than right on the reef at Heron Island.

Whether you are an accomplished elite swimmer or complete novice, all swimming levels are catered for with an emphasis on having fun and simply enjoying the stunning marine life in crystal clear waters. Stunning coral gardens and sea creatures great and small flourish in abundance and colour, making Heron Island an ideal place for swimmers.

Wilson Island

Be Shipwrecked in Style at Wilson Island either before or after the swim event – with the island’s own private Chef, luxury safari tent accommodation, just enough power for the bare essentials (a cool drink and a hot shower) you will enjoy “Castaway Chic”! Wilson Island is available from $422.50 per person per night, twin share including all meals and selected alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and return private boat transfers (45 minutes) from Heron Island.
